Nothing is ever the president's fault (excellent column)
From today's Denver Post:

Nothing is ever the president's fault
By Reggie Rivers

Each new Bush administration story reminds me of the scene in the movie "Good Will Hunting," when Robin Williams' character, a counselor, has a breakthrough with Matt Damon's character.

"It's not your fault," Williams says over and over to the brilliant but troubled Will Hunting, whose overly aggressive, angry, self-destructive behavior constantly lands him in trouble. Hearing that it was not his fault, Hunting eventually breaks down, sobbing uncontrollably. He's finally on the path to redemption.

In America's version of this drama, President Bush lacks Hunting's brilliance but he's got the aggression and destruction mastered. He insults, dismisses, attacks, denies and disappears - usually to his ranch in Texas, where he has so far spent 20 percent of his presidency on vacation.

This week, Bush bypassed the Senate and appointed controversial figure John Bolton as ambassador to the United Nations. Bolton had been the subject of five months of debate in the Senate, because many people suspected he manipulated intelligence prior to the war in Iraq when he was the undersecretary of state for arms control.

3. Here is the real question, when will the people of this nation be told
how many people really dislike Mr. Bush Jr?

Answer: When they have the balls to ask!

There are enough people who do not care one way or another and the tactics are working. Just look to see how many people who have the right to vote do not.

In 2004 just over half of the people who have the right to vote did. We do know many more wanted to vote, but were denied. The year of 2004 was an exception. Now with that experience, how many people are going to try to make the effort again to vote?

Answer: We are going to have to be very persuasive to get those people back out and then some, we need more.

There has been a concerted effort by the Conservative Movement to stop having people vote and when people do vote to vote conservative.

This needs to stop just like when Mr. Bush Jr. gets back from vacation we have 9/11. The real question is, "Why were you and your staff on vacation when dire warnings were coming down the pipe"?

5. Why must THIS Prez be coddled, insulated, even adored??!@@
like a pampered teenager the parental unit has given up and now just jumps at demands from issued from the ivory tower/WH.
this prez should be hounded DAY and NIGHT and made to answer SOMETHING for his treasonous actions-even as we are forced to listen to him mangle his words. His cadre of handlers shield this arrogant asshole 24/7 from press/public. He should live in Hollywood, every utterance, every move he makes is SCRIPTED.
