Bush keeping Roberts records secrets violates law. Opinion Chicago Trib
While I am glad to see this in print, it should be front page stuff. Bush's own executive order is the "legal" fig leaf he is using to hide USSC nominee Roberts records from the public. These are public records and the public has the right to know both what it has paid for and what kind of pig in a poke, we are being sold.

FINE POINT
Bush using own rules with Roberts
Through an executive order, the White House is controlling which documents about the Supreme Court nominee will be made public

The effect of the order was to render nearly meaningless the Presidential Records Act of 1978, a post-Watergate era law that was designed to give the public access to many presidential papers 12 years after that president had left office.

The immediate effect of the order was to limit access to records of Reagan administration officials who were called upon to serve in the Bush administration, shielding them and the president from any potentially embarrassing disclosures

2. Congress will get right on it!
Republican senators and representatives will make passionate speeches about the public's right to know and the importance of the rule of law!

Any moment now . . .

5. And The Point Is?
Bush recognizes no law of man or god (any man, any god). It's not surprising that he finds himself unbound by any limitations. When his Karma comes due, it's going to be amazing.

8. I would say the point is the media's virtual silence on the issue
amazingly the liberal media has no interest in the illegal activities of the criminal right wing cabal controlling this country.
