US Looking to Develop Next Generation of Anti-civilian Weapons
...wonderful!

August 17, 2005

Aug 17 - With the use of Tasers and other so-called "non-lethal" weapons among law enforcement officials on the rise, the US Department of Homeland Security is funding research to make new weaponry for use in crowd and border control efforts. Five separate companies received DHS contracts to develop "untethered" "non-lethal" weapons.

According to the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency website, nearly $500,000 has been awarded in contracts that began on June 1 and end December 15.

Monday the New Scientist reported on two of the firms – Lynntech of College Station, Texas and Midé Technology Corporation of Medford, Massachusetts.

Midé is developing a weapon called "Piezer," which can be fired from a 12-gauge shotgun and has a range of 40 to 50 meters, according to the company. The shells would "deliver high-energy stun pulses," and are tailored to "crowd control situations or riots having high levels of aggression," Midé revealed.

2. And this protects us against terrorists how ?

They're expecting terrorist riots ? How surreptitious of the terrorists.

They seem more intended to be used against the citizenry.

10. YOu Got It
The Revolution will not be televised, and the Civil War will have crowd control. No corporations were harmed in the making of this history.

3. yes
Why destroy resources needlessly when they can be controlled, contained in camps, and put to work manufacturing things....

Y'know, just like the Chinese do.....

4. Another move in the War Against the American People
Considering it is the ONLY war the Busheviks care to wage effectively, they will be deploying their instruments of tyranny against us.

6. Unfortunately, I agree too...
Sometimes, I think, where does this all lead?
And sometimes I think it might lead to an all out fascist Busholini coup with new weapons deployed to watch over and control the people.

It's possible, little tidbits like that definitely add possibility...
But I sure hope I am wrong!

8. I also pray every day that I am wrong
Of course, I also recognize that so did a lot of Germans and Jews in 1933 pray that they weren't seeing what they were seeing.

Or Romans in 48 BC.

Or Russians in the 20s.

And so on ad infinitum.

History shows us that, while we may be wrong (hell, Lincoln was refrred to as His Majesty Abraham the First), most-likely we are not. Instead we are merely cursed with being "ahead of the curve".

Because Bush is no Lincoln. Bush is Jeff Davis or more accurately, Bush is Ferdinand Marcos.

Or worse. Very possibly MUCH worse.

9. And you know what makes me shiver even more...
I am from Europe, and my parents often told me that during WWII, there was a rumor circulating in France that the Germans, when they were deporting Jews/Gypsies/gays etc. to concentration camps, they were also systematically exterminating them.

Those who were spreading the rumor very often were accused of "conspiracy theories", and paranoia. We now know that they were correct.

However, what we must remember above all, is that it is ALWAYS WRONG to arrest, deport or publicly vilify anybody on the sole basis of ethnicity or religion, and that hopefully in the future we will never need to go beyond that simple truth.

11. But Judy, Totalitarianism always reinvents itself each generation
And I can just about guarantee that the Roundups will NOT be race-based.

But it will mostly be Blacks, Jews, Gays, etc...just a coinkydink.

So, what you fear won't come to pass, but it won't matter because it will likely be mostly the same thing dressed up to look a little different.

And yes, expect so MANY "conspiracy theories" to turn out to be true, for "conspiracy theories" are so much more frequently true in Totalitarian Nations like the Soviet Union or Imperial Amerika, than they are in Free Nations like the old, defunct USA.

I fear this is mostly a done deal, and that 2006/2008 will confirm the absolute inability for any Imperial Subject of Amerika to do ANYTHING about it.

12. Ah, yes
"Sometimes, I think, where does this all lead?"

The "what is the endgame of civilization?" question. Been there many times.

7. If you're going to riot, then riot at the companies that make these things
Or, at the houses of their corporate officers.

13. Nothing new here, except...
we now have people in charge who are predisposed toward oppression and violence. The weapons are just a new wrinkle in a long history of "crowd control" items in the U.S. arsenal. Many of these quaint toys may still be parked under tarps at a National Guard armory near you. Again, the truly frightening difference is that we now have folks with more motive than you can shake a stun gun at... and if they feel the Dems are going to take it back in 2006 and spill their steaming cauldron of lies, treason and other felonies, then God help us all. I used to laugh at the skinheads and all their "Great Day of the Rope" bluster. Now I believe we have someone in the White House who could quickly come to see things their way.

14. When they perfect the intimidation of
the peaceful gathering then people disperse, to the hills my little red book holders.
I mean, the more these nazi's squeeze the power to protest the more they create
an uncivilized situation and I am not yet convinced this isn't exactly what they do want.

15. I think we are on a road to totalitarianism, we may have arrived
They anticipate the need for crowd control? What are they planning?
These weapons are not suppose to be fatal but I'll beat they can do damage, a shot to the eye could be a mess. What about people dying from stun guns?
