. . . support and defend the Constitution . . . |
|
Larisa hits another one out of the park: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/larisa-alexandrovna/you-are-an-american_b_5928.htmlThe oath I took in order to earn my right to be an American is strikingly similar to the oath taken by others who, while born here, still must make this obligation formal in order to serve the country, represent the citizens, and enforce the law . . .
These examples - although all oaths of duty and/or service to the country are written in much the same way - stipulate that only the Constitution be defended and adhered to, not even the country itself is mentioned outside of its subservience to that principle.
No oath of office or obligation of duty demands that a particular political party be supported, preserved, defended, protected, and adhered to -- because no political party defines what an American is.
No oath of office or obligation of duty demands that a particular ideology, be it secular, religious, and/or political, be supported, preserved, defended, protected, and adhered to -- because no ideology defines what an American is.
Most importantly, no single person or group of people are elevated above the Constitution and the rule of law, no matter what their role is in our society.

5. bad news about the domestic enemies |
|
They're setting the policy and fixing the facts around it. We at DU are far more likely to be officially declared "domestic enemies" than the neocons, regardless of committing no crimes, committing no acts of violence, and not endorsing anything of the sort. And particularly not on the grounds that the neocons have committed a coup d'etat.

9. You know I think I would homeschool my kid if i had one. |

to make sure she gets an accurate educate. And that includes bible study. Note I am not slamming teachers. They work long hours little pay and -god love em- over crowded classes- what my comment is gearred toward is the administrive end of it which determines what is taught. Not who is teaching the class.
