Orange Punch: The Stupid Party strikes again
The Stupid Party strikes again

Republicans often have been called the "Stupid Party," an epithet taken from John Stewart Mill, who first used it on about Brit conservatives of his day. A case in point: House Speaker Denny Hastert saying that rebuilding New Orleans doesn't make sense: "We help replace, we help relieve disaster. But I think federal insurance and everything that goes along with it... we ought to take a second look at that."

It's only one of the great cities of the world.

As JFK once asked of Republicans, where do they get these guys?

Sure, there shouldn't be federal insurance; it all should be private. But the Feds have co-opted the system, so everybody relies on it. That's the system right now so it has to be used.
