Help me proof-read my oped, factcheck, and make suggestions. |

In light of Allen Shirley’s new comments I need to admit bias in focusing on Bush’s New Orleans levee cuts. I am a member of the blame Bush crowd. Allen is a member of the make excuses and blame some Democrats for every incompetent and corrupt choice Bush makes crowd. After all, you are really on the high ground when your morality is based on “but Democrats do it too.”
I particularly like Bush’s choice of FEMA director. He may have had almost no experience to head FEMA but he sure was a political pal. I just wonder what Bush and our Republican leadership would have to do in order to finally diffuse the political loyalty of their most fervent enablers.
What would it take, poisoning bald eagles with mercury so coal plants can increase profits? Invading a country for fraudulent reasons? Making the government bigger and the national debt larger every year? Facilitating greater poverty and greater wealth concurrently? Cutting funding to levee projects in New Orleans whilst giving Bill Clinton a huge tax cut? What will it take?

regarding punctuation in your first paragraph . . .

I like the first person's suggestion, too.
I only wonder if there's some reason you need whilst as opposed to while.

I never use it. It sounds to me like saying "efficacious," rather than "effective." I wasn't even sure it was a word, but the spellcheck liked it.
I should say that I have a Ph.D. and am a published novellist, so I know something about writing.
It's up to you, of course, because it isn't an error. It's a choice. Maybe others will disagree with me. As opposed to *, I do make misteaks from time to time. :)

I take responsibility for all my misteaks, if there are any.

6. I opened your post because of your desire to "factcheck". |

The enemy does not use facts - they use fiction. We hold ourselves to a higher standard but some days I am not sure we will ever win because they don't even get the difference.
