SENIORS GET FLEECED BY NEW MEDICARE DRUG PROGRAM:

SENIORS GET FLEECED BY NEW MEDICARE DRUG PROGRAM:

Seniors paid higher prices for 49 of the 50 most popular prescription drugs if they bought them through the Medicare drug discount card program promoted by President Bush rather than the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), according to a new Families USA report. The prescription drug bill marshaled through Congress last year by conservatives prevents Medicare (unlike the VA) from negotiating directly with drug companies for lower bulk prices. The report found that for half of the 50 most popular prescription drugs, the Medicare card price is at least 58.2 percent higher than the VA price. “The continued prohibition against such bargaining will not only hurt seniors, but it will also fleece the American taxpayer,” said Ron Pollack, Executive Director of Families USA.

But what could they do to stop it? Wasn't AARP behind this scam 100%?

6. odd that the Big Pharma lobby is republican, now isn't it.
Well word to AARP - pull your wrinkly old republican heads out of your butts folks. Republican elected officials do not serve you. Just because many of you are republicans does not mean that republicans in office have your best interests in mind, and the proof is that they aren't willing to go to bat for you with the pharmaceutical companies.

You need to vote for the people that will fight keep you alive, not your fellow republicans that don't care that you will almost certainly die if you can't afford your medicines, in fact will throw the first handful of dirt on your coffin so they won't have to pay social security for one second longer.

7. AARP supported this because of their
affiliation with UnitedHealth Group.

4. Exactly what I said even before it became law. As a
low income senior I was lucky enough to enter a program where I got some meds free and others at 10% of cost. I have been informed by the program that I will no longer be able to use it because of the medicare card. With the monthly "premium" and deductible I will be in the hole before I can use the card. Just another ploy by this administration to demonstrate their "compassionate conservatism." Make the seniors believe they actually care.

8. Totalitarians always do the OPPOSITE of what they say
Be it the Soviets on the Left or the Nazis & The Bush Crime Family on the Right, they are all the same lying, freedom-hating dogs.

Simply par for the course.
