WACO, Texas - The letter from the U.S. Marines said Grace Abdnor might have what it takes.

"Now is the time to put your unique Arabic language skills to the test," said the letter.
The letter also promised to "push your physical and mental limits beyond anything you've every known" if she enlisted.
To that, the Waco woman said she feels challenged aplenty already. She's 86.

Abdnor doesn't know where a recruiter got her name or the Marines got their impression of her. Even if she had a 20-year-old's body, she said she wouldn't sign up, in part because of what's implied by the need for those Arabic skills she never had. That would be that the Marines want her in Iraq.

No way, she said. "I think the president has made a mess there."
