New Joe Conason Salon Article - "Rove's nightmare"
http://www.salon.com/opinion/conason/2005/10/07/rove_inquiry/index.html

"Rove's nightmare
If Karl Rove told federal officials in 2003 he wasn't involved in outing Valerie Plame, he could face charges.
By Joe Conason

Oct. 7, 2005 | To understand why Karl Rove is believed to be in grave danger of indictment for his role in the Wilson leaks, let's return to the earliest days of the investigation. If Rove is found criminally liable for lying, then the falsehoods that led to his downfall may well have been uttered during the weeks when his old friend and client John Ashcroft was still in charge of the leaks probe -- and before the case was turned over to the special counsel, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald."

2. Well aren't you a good reporter! "discovered" - this is the link.
Great find...so they turn the heat up on Libby (and turn him into a laughing stock w/the love letter); then they cut a deal with Miller; then she's allowed to "discover" notes with, GUESS WHO, Dick Cheney, the next one to fall.

Cheney must go. They need a new VP so that they can "resign" bush.

This is the ENDGAME!

7. I think so too. It'll be interesting to see if we're right!
Aaack. I used to hate soap operas. I really hate this administration for sucking me into theirs. :puke:

8. "This is the ENDGAME!"
You might well be right about that.

I think Cheney's been a target for a while. I also think he'll resign, along with Scooter (does **anyone** know another grownup named 'Scooter'?). I also think Rove's gone and that chimp will be an unidicted coconspiritor. The rest of the WHIG is also a possibility.

14. Did somebody say "ENDGAME"
EndGame

Gore/Clark; Gore bows out; it's all Clark all the time, saving the world! Hey Husb, I'm still pushing that Hackett article. We'll get the truth someday (like when he becomes Sen. Hackett).

21. I know another adult with the name "Scooter"....
Scott Mcnealy - CEO of Sun Microsystems...he's had the name since childhood...only family and friends call him that.....

In his case, I'll say its a fun and fitting name....but he's never used it professionally and I highly doubt anyone at Sun knows that or would ever dare refer to him directly as "Scooter"....

10. A new one is appointed by the sitting pres.
then approved by congress (i think).

So, dick resigns, shrub appoints mccain, then shrub resigns.
mccain runs as incumbent in 08. qed.

Awwww...powder me and put me to bed, a little hot milk will do.

Let's keep this pic alive!

You are so right.

13. Allow me to make your day--problems with McCain
Damn, this is great. The merger of political drama with substantive issues -- Bush is sooooo very bad, he must go. Let's help figure out how! I like your argument but here's an alternative:

16. Extra great find.
"One source involved in the investigation said the new information could help Fitzgerald show a long-running and orchestrated campaign to discredit Wilson, which could help form the basis for a conspiracy charge"

Now what I want to know is if Libby is one of the only six people in the Bush whore house that has access to CIA profiles? According to Joe Wilson, only 6 people in the whore house have the ability to check CIA profiles.

11. Yeah right. She "found" the notes after....
....Fitz asked her how she'd like to be Karl Rove's cellmate for 50 years.

The poop is really gonna hit the prop on this one. We're coming to a major cusp here for the * regime. They're either gonna have to pull up their pants and go home, or they're gonna have to take over by force and declare martial law.

20. Oh, gee, she found the notes. That's really funny.
Edited on Sat Oct-08-05 12:25 AM by Hardhead
'Cause, you know, she and the Times have maintained all this time that there were never any notes because she wasn't writing a story. Bad enough that she lied about it, but the lamentable "paper of record" staked out an identical position and is now shown to be utterly full of shit.
