The Myth of Peak Oil (a scam to drive up prices?)
Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 12:12 AM by Carolab
This comes from Alex Jones...dated 10/12/05

http://www.prisonplanet.com/archives/peak_oil/index.htm

Peak oil is a scam designed to create artificial scarcity and jack up prices while giving the state an excuse to invade our lives and order us to sacrifice our hard-earned living standards.

Publicly available CFR and Club of Rome strategy manuals from 30 years ago say that a global government needs to control the world population through neo-feudalism by creating artificial scarcity. Now that the social architects have de-industrialized the United States, they are going to blame our economic disintegration on lack of energy supplies.

Globalization is all about consolidation. Now that the world economy has become so centralized through the Globalists operations, they are going to continue to consolidate and blame it on the West's "evil" overconsumption of fossil fuels, while at the same time blocking the development and integration of renewable clean technologies.

In other words, Peak oil is a scam to create artificial scarcity and drive prices up. Meanwhile, alternative fuel technologies which have been around for decades are intentionally suppressed.

2. True, but first we must recognize that this is a fraud.
That this is a concerted effort to keep us dependent on oil, subvert the creation of alternative (especially FREE renewable) energies, make the elite richer and keep the rest of us in line--a la the "New World Order".

3. Peak oil is real...
abiotic oil is the real myth here... and believing that we are fine for now will only make things worse... I don't buy the argument that elites were the source of the peak oil idea, on the contrary, big oil has always denied such things till just recently when the problem could not be ignored any longer.

4. I saw a big oil exec on Charlie Rose last week who said there are reserves
that have not been explored. He was with a big oil company but (sorry) I can't remember which one. At the time I thought he was just trying to paint a rosy picture but now I wonder.

10. that's a common oil co. talking point
there ARE plenty of untapped reserves, but what isn't mentioned is the monumental cost and effort to extract the oil (think: trying to extract oil from the moon)

5. interesting stuff . . .
not being an energy expert, I don't know if peak oil is real or not . . . some of this guy's citations were impressive, though . . . and the oil companies ARE making money hand over fist . . . while oilmen control the government . . .

certainly worth discussing, so I'm recommending . . . hope others will do the same, if only to stimulate more discussion . . .

7. the 1 thing that makes alternative energy attractive is HIGH energy prices
so if this is a scam it's only gonna hurt the traditional energy market.

peak oil is a FACT of life and the person who coined the term was derided as well until he was proven right when america reached it's peak in the early 70s, the late Dr. M. King Hubbert, Geophysicist.

9. Peak Oil
is a bit of a misnomer as it can remain plateaued out for awhile depending on circumstances, however as we currently are operating we are at or passed the worldwide halfway production of provable reserves.

Have looked at this and read everything on it for 5 years now. This is geology and no amount of politics or oilman talking points will change the energy situation.

One way to examine this is to look at where the oil is coming from, deeper wells and more remote locales e.g., and what type of oil (heavier) is more often being refined.
