October Surprise (madsen d. c. update)
continued at:

http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/

October 14, 2005 -- To all those who have been kind with their support for this site, thanks again so much! Now, let me report to you what I discovered prowling Washington last night on the CIA Leakgate story, the "October Surprise" scandal that threatens the survival of the G.W. Bush/Cheney administration.

Political insiders tracking this scandal are reporting that the GOP and neo-con political machines, which have also targeted Travis County, Texas, District Attorney Ronnie Earle in retaliation for his indictments of Tom DeLay and other Texas GOP operatives, are also setting their sights on CIA Leakgate special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald.

For an example of this new strategy of attacking Fitzgerald, see this Washington Post OP-ED piece by Richard Cohen.

The word inside the Beltway is that if Fitzgerald delivers indictments against senior White House officials, he will face unspecified "consequences."

4. If he does so now

he will be quickly impeached. There are many in Congress who will flee from his camp if he tries to escape that way. A lawless administration with a "get out of jail free card" is a very scary thing. The people are tiring of this whole mess. Pardons would tip it all over in a very big way. People won't like it.

And please do not remind my of Bush Sr's pardons. The circumstance were entirely different then.

2. No surprise here.
The only defense these assholes have ever used is "Shoot the Messenger". It may be the only thing that they know how to do. I hope Fitz has his guns loaded and is ready for such an attack.

3. I don't see Fitzgerald quaking in his boots
It's typical bully talk. He's run such a tight investigation and is personally so squeaky clean I don't see how anything could stick. Besides, the tactic has been exposed often enough that it will likely rebound on the mudslingers.

8. Your advice seems to be "give up, it's childish & give in to fear". No thx
Your previous post counselled Fitzgerald and his staff to give up because you think it is useless, you think they will be pardoned. Now you seem to counsel that they should give up for fear, because surely self-preservation is more important than chasing a fool's errand.

Your defeatism is not appreciated by many here.

9. You really have to wonder why more people do not see through this.

The Republican Smear Machine has been working overtime for FIVE freaking years - are there people out there who can STILL believe in * and his self-serving policies?

It's a wonder.

P.S. No ellipses were harmed during the formation of this thread.

10. These people are so bad. I really do think that they have
threatened the families of several people. They or Jeb may have murdered an investigator (of the money-laundering in the Florida road money.)

11. They've already started demonizing Fitzgerald.
I heard a Repug talking head on (I think) Hardball state that Fitzgerald was looking to grandstand simply to make a name for himself. They are doing the same thing to Earle and it will be their standard attack for anyone that tries to bring charges against Shrub Inc.

13. Within that report
you will find a brief note about the Assassination of Hariri and this merits particular attention as it relates to the neocon agenda in the Mideast.

More comes about this comes out about this daily in the international press.
