MoDo on Judy: Woman of Mass Destruction
I know, I know, Times Select sucks, but these bits from Dowd's latest column beg to be shared...

<snip>

"Judy's stories about W.M.D. fit too perfectly with the White House's case for war. She was close to Ahmad Chalabi, the con man who was conning the neocons to knock out Saddam so he could get his hands on Iraq, and I worried that she was playing a leading role in the dangerous echo chamber that former Senator Bob Graham dubbed "incestuous amplification." Using Iraqi defectors and exiles, Mr. Chalabi planted bogus stories with Judy and other credulous journalists."

<snip>

"Judy told The Times that she plans to write a book and intends to return to the newsroom, hoping to cover "the same thing I've always covered - threats to our country." If that were to happen, the institution most in danger would be the newspaper in your hands."

1. "Credulous."
IS there a more contemptuous insult to a journalist?

2. Yes, 'complicit'
I don't think she was 'credulous' at all. I think she's part of the neocon cabal, and a plant in the NYT.

I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being indicted, or making a deal with the prosecutor to lighten her sentence (she did lie to him, and he knew she was lying). He may use her as a witness. The more witnesses he has the better his case. And, he would know her career as a dangerous propagandist would be over then, anyway.

I hope the NYT has already told her she is no longer employed. If she does write a book, I wouldn't believe a word of it. She must think we are all as gullible as the editors at the NYT.

4. I Have Never Read A Better Knife Job!
Step aside, Dorothy Parker. Take a powder, Art Buchwald. There's a new girl in town!
