As Another Hurricane Approaches, "Is God Mad At Us?" - Falwell
It seems like our nation has been forced to deal with greater than usual proportions of distress in recent days. Hurricanes Katrina and Rita did more damage than we can probably ever fathom. And now another brutal storm, this one known as Hurricane Wilma, is advancing toward Florida.

Recently, CNN's Wolf Blitzer asked me, "Is someone trying to get our attention?" Harry Smith, of CBS' The Early Show, asked me another pertinent question: "Is God mad at us?"

I believe these are questions that many people are asking on street corners and in classrooms, beauty salons and coffee shops all over our nation.

With worldwide terrorism as the backdrop since 9/11, and with natural disasters like the Asian tsunami, hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma, the Pakistan earthquake, the Guatemalan mudslides and other global tragedies causing hundreds of thousands of innocent people to die and to be made homeless, many people are thinking in apocalyptic terms.

3. Harry Smith is an idiot.
Years ago when I watched television, he was interviewing someone at a large plane crash. He asked, "Well, are people panicking, are they running around screaming?"

I was so disgusted I immediately switched the channel and never watched that program again. Harry Smith is an idiot.

As for "Gimme all your money" Falwell, he doesn't have a clue about God.

Edited on Sat Oct-22-05 06:35 AM by Neil Lisst
It's RED states God wants. God is mad at the pukes and all the states that helped them steal the presidency.

And he's really pissed at Falwell. Robertson, too.

Isn't it obvious?

"So what is the biblical significance of all these global disasters which have befallen us recently?
The honest answer is, I do not know."

15. Well, Jerry, since you're too stupid to
believe in science (as in global warming) and too morally confused to understand that killing people doesn't create positive results (as a US policy of military aggression that's created powerful anti-American terrorist cells), then what else could it be in your pea brain but the fulfillment of biblical prophecy of armageddon. Surprisingly enough, your actions and thinking just happen to be pushing along the materialization of this prophecy. someone needs to check your scalp for 3 sixes.

I wonder how much money he's pocketed as a result of these natural disasters? Why this man gets air-time is beyond me.

20. But then we do know why, as in
who owns the media and what their agenda is.

Funny, aren't any of the big corporations and media moguls considering the thought that if they continue to support this kind of leader and direction, that they won't have any business, wealth, power or even life, as if the planet is destroyed, where are they going to sell their products, even if they manage to survive, and who will buy them?

Just curious.

22. It's immediate gratification.
Edited on Sun Oct-23-05 02:37 PM by FrustratedDemInNC
These corporations are interested in instant profits, they don't give a rat's ass about the future of our planet. Mother Earth is being savagely destroyed as they continue to dismantle all the regulations protecting our beautiful lands.

Falwell and his ilk preach rapture - a false belief used to keep believers from caring about this world. As Robert Kennedy, Jr. eloquently says, it's a crime against nature. These people have no shame.

23. and it sure feels a lot like we've
popped down the rabbit hole. Never once dreamed I'd live in an insane society, even during Nixon it didn't feel insane to me, except that he was elected, which I must admit saying to myself at the time, the man is nuts and the American people must be too to elect him. deja vouish. But maybe we just need to think of it as the 2nd coming -- the 21st century barbarian invasion.

24. I know exactly how you feel.
Nixon would be labeled a liberal in today's political atmosphere, the EPA could never have been passed. After reading "Worse Than Watergate," I realized how screwed we really are.

Falwell and his ilk were the extreme fringe back in the day. Now, they get non-stop coverage by the corporate owned media, it's disgusting.
