The Borking Of Miers
The "Borking of Harriet Miers

People are complaining that the right wing "Borked" Harriet Miers.

They did indeed, but instead of hand wringing about it and lamenting the sorry state of confirmation proceedings, it is time to instead recognize that there was never anything wrong with the "Borking" of Bork.

......

The conservatives did the right thing. They stood up for what they believed. So should we.

1. But....
Isn't the real difference that she was "Borked" on actual legitiment issues...i.e. her total lack of experience?

2. Bork was turned down for legit reasons too
He was (and is) a real extremist. Frankly if he had his way we would be back in the slave holding era.

3. she wasn't 'borked'
she was simply unqualified. Bork was, and is, certainly qualified to sit on the Supreme Court, he's just an extemist asshole who didn't handle the confirmation process well.
