Poor approval ratings add to Bush's hurdles
Second-term agenda, '06 elections at risk
By Caren Bohan, Reuters | November 5, 2005

<snip> A week after vice presidential aide Lewis Libby resigned and was indicted on charges related to the leaking of a CIA operative's identity, an ABC News/Washington Post poll indicated that less than half of Americans viewed Bush as trustworthy and honest. The president's overall approval rating dropped to a new low of 39 percent. <snip>

A CBS poll Wednesday put Bush's job approval rating at 35 percent, his lowest since taking office in 2001. <snip>

Two Republicans with close ties to the White House said morale among staff has plummeted and many aides were feeling the strain of years of long hours and stress. <snip>

1. Headline shows they still bend over backwards to prop up the fraud.
Almost all headlines of this ilk in every paper couches this like some kind of silly horse race. Why don't they just start calling bush a failed presidency, a failed president, a corrupt president, or an unpopular president? They never do. Instead, they use words designed to portray this horrible nightmare as some kind of "hurdle" that Dear Leader will undoubtedly "overcome."

Utter bullshit.

2. I watched CNN yesterday a very rare event for me.
Dobbs and Blitzer wanted to blame the Argentine problems on Chavez, but ended in saying the crowd who listened to him was mostly peaceful. It was hard to miss the look at disgust when they mentioned Bush and his falling poll numbers and that they did not see his free trade proposal going very far.

What will hurt Bush the most with this ilk is that George is true to form as a Capitalist "an utter failure".

3. I find it strange
that the low approval ratings have not changed the message one bit. Both the president and congress are spewing the same things they spewed when times were good. They are not trying to reach across the divide to help the middle and lower class. They are actually screwing us even more, cuts to medicare-caid,drilling in the wildlife refuge, they had food stamps on the table. This is insanity at it's purist doing the same things over and over expecting different results. So who is running the show?It has to be big business they are the only ones coming out on top.

4. Yes, Big Business is the true beneficiary
of this terrible administration and congressional leadership. I just saw a poll on ABC's Sunday morning show that says voters would prefer the Democrats to take control of congress in 2006 by a 55%-to-37% margin. VERY ENCOURAGING, but a year is a long, long time...
