Orthodox Creationism: It's Not Just for Christians Anymore
Some Orthodox Jewish leaders are backing "intelligent design," proving that the suppression of scientific knowledge in the name of religious mind-control isn't just for Christians anymore. Willful ignorance is now an ecumenical movement.

Several speakers used the Sixth Miami International Conference on Torah and Science to push "ID," and the Orthodox spin on creationist propaganda is gaining some support.

As the Miami Sun-Times reported:

Miami's Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education even signed on as a sponsor. The organization's president, Chaim Botwinick, says the event is a harbinger. "Many Jewish schools are beginning to discuss making intelligent design an integral part of their curriculum," he explains.

Hey, just like the televangelists! What happened to resisting assimilation? As for me, I've already explained why I think the only plausible "intelligent designer" for this universe is not who these folks or their goyische colleagues have in mind.

1. Most religions have a creation story that is different from evolution.
Muslims too, Hindus, whatever. In my opinion the real struggle is against political fundamentalism, or the idea of the absolute correctness of anybodies religious or anti-religious ideals, and the willingness to forcefully project them onto others. If you look at the scope of the world's religions, I think this is actually a pretty small minority...:)

3. Judaism is being corrupted by the evangelicals........
just like every other facet of christianity. Of course the evangelicals want to sway Judaism, it fits in with their "end times" bullshit and other unfounded myths.
In a society thrown into turmoil (and that's been every society since day one) people turn to religion for guidance and hope. It's an empty promise but that doesn't matter to these folks, they just want to believe some invisible entity in the sky is in charge and that everything will be alright as long as they sing it's praises and tithe. Don't forget the tithing!
The evangelicals NEED the Jews to support their apocalyptic fantasies of the rapture, it sustains their propaganda. Getting the Jews to "believe" in Intelligent Design is even better for them, it brings them closer to the fold and their ultimate control.
They're all fools! Any intelligent individual KNOWS the Flying Spaghetti Monster is the be all and end all of all religious dogma. Why would these fools waste their time with other ridiculous religions when the FSM is right before their eyes!

5. Zealots of any faith are identical.
Therefore, it isn't surprising they find common ground in this as well.

4. the term "ecumenical" excludes judaism
they probably meant "nondenominational".

"ecumenical" means across all CHRISTIAN churches.
