Congressman Asks Marines To Declassify Report On August Killings

CLEVELAND -- Last August, 20 Marines from the Brook Park-based 3rd Battalion 25th Marines were killed in Iraq. Six snipers were killed on Aug. 1 by Iraqi insurgents, and 14 more Marines were killed two days later when their assault vehicle was blown up.
In an exclusive report, NewsChannel5 learned from the father of one of the fallen Marines that the members of the 3/25 were betrayed by Iraqis working with U.S. forces not once, but twice.
NewsChannel5's Adam Shapiro reported that the Marines investigated the killings, and have a classified report detailing what happened.
