Schieffer: Kerry and Bin Laden Expressed “Almost The Same” Sentiments

Today, CBS’ Bob Schieffer borrowed a page from Chris Matthews. NewsMax reports:

Asked whether bin Laden had expressed “almost the same” sentiments that Kerry did during an appearance on Schieffer’s “Face the Nation” broadcast in December, the CBS anchorman told WABC Radio’s Mark Simone: “Well, he did. That’s exactly right.”

Neither Schieffer nor Matthews bill themselves as right-wing propagandists. They are, by their own descriptions, journalists. Yet, over the past few days, they have said things about prominent liberals that would make Karl Rove blush.....

Based on an admittedly quick scan of the transcript from CBS News, it looks like the part where Kerry agrees with bin Laden is that the U.S. is the inheritor of the Middle East legacy of France and Britain.

...part of the problem that feeds the insurgency today is that we are, like it or not, the inheritors of the legacy of both the British and the French.

So Kerry agrees with the nefarious bin Laden about irrefutable, objective fact? Well then, he should be in prison!

Kerry also said, "I have said very specifically that we need to keep Special Forces capacity. We need to have the ability to go after hard intelligence. We need to chase down Zarqawi." Well, there you go--bin Laden says that all the time!

Other blatantly bin Laden-esque statements by Kerry from this interview:

• Joe Lieberman would make a good Secretary of Defense.


• The U.S. should reduce troop strength in Iraq so we can focus on fighting al-Qaeda and "getting Osama bin Laden." (Bin Laden agrees with this too; all his terrorist exploits have just been a cry for help; he really wants to be caught or killed!)


• The elections in Iraq are "incredibly important," and "we want them to be successful."

Of course, the worst thing is that he said Happy Holidays to Bob Schieffer at the end of the interview! So Kerry has joined bin Laden in the War on Christmas!!
