Post-Gazette's Kelly: It's a Bipartisan Scandal
Jack Kelly: It's a bipartisan scandal
Democrats also ended up receiving money from Jack Abramoff
Sunday, January 29, 2006

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

It was no way to treat a lady. On Jan. 15, Washington Post ombudsman Deborah Howell wrote a column praising her paper for exposing crooked lobbyist Jack Abramoff. By Jan. 19, a section of the Post's Web site for reader comments was deluged with so much obscene e-mail from outraged liberals that the Post had to shut it down.

Mr. Abramoff pled guilty earlier this month to defrauding his clients (Indian tribes who owned casinos) and the Internal Revenue Service.

Ms. Howell's critics were in high dudgeon over a distinction without a difference. In the seventh paragraph of her column lauding reporter Susan Schmidt, she wrote: "And had made substantial contributions to both major parties." In an effort encouraged by liberal blogs and other Web sites, hundreds of critical comments, many using profane language, poured into the Post.blog section of the newspaper's Web site.

fucking lap dog for the nazi party. I have never read a single one of his column's were he's doing anything but advancing their position.

He is to the point where no thinking person takes him seriously any more. He is truly a Joke!

2. Oh boy Dems get a big whopping 1/3 of tribe money, but none from Jack
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 07:10 AM by fearnobush
himself. Ever wonder why he gave none to any Dems? Well, being a corrupt greedy ass, typical politics for money Rethuglican pretty much sums it up. GOP - Greedy Old Profiteers. Republicans = the real sleaze bags of America. Thats right - GOP, bunch of dirt bags who couldn't think on there own two feet, unless paid for by someone like Jack.

A quote from your Rethuglican dog:

"Democrats received about a third of the money donated by Mr. Abramoff's clients and by employees of his lobbying firm."

4. "Distinction without a difference"
my ASS! IF Abramoff gave money to Democrats, we need to know about it.

But of course, it.didn't.happen.

This Kelly clown is clearly spinning according to the talking points. But until he finds even a nickel of Abramoff's OWN money going to a Democrat, he needs to shut the hell up with his RNC talking points about this being a "bipartisan scandal."

If he believes what he's writing, he needs to call for another indictment of Abramoff and the various tribes charging them all with conspiracy. If Abramoff gave the tribes money and told 'em to spread it around, they need to be charged with money laundering. The absence of the charge is the absence of tribal criminal conduct.

Abramoff's money was dirty. He bought Repig congress critters left and right. We know he didn't give a nickel to a single, solitary Democrat.

Repigs need to deal with it instead of looking for media shoulders upon which to cry. They're dirty. It's what they do.

7. I read the article. Payola Pundit comes to mind. Howell has
become a RW rallying point. The backlash from her bias reporting has become the distraction for the actual K Street Corruption. Way to go, WAPO!
