TV Comedians Target Cheney Accident

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

(02-14) 01:10 PST Los Angeles (AP) --

Television talk shows took aim Monday at Vice President Dick Cheney's accidental weekend shooting in Texas of a hunting companion. Here are a few of the jokes.

___

"Late Show with David Letterman," CBS:

_ "Good news, ladies and gentlemen, we have finally located weapons of mass destruction: It's Dick Cheney."

_ "But here is the sad part — before the trip Donald Rumsfeld had denied the guy's request for body armor."

_ "We can't get Bin Laden, but we nailed a 78-year-old attorney."

3. What Leno said cracked me up.
On Monday's broadcast of the Tonight Show, comedian-host Jay Leno said in his opening monologue, "Do you know that Dick Cheney tortured the guy for a half-hour before he shot him?"

I don't have TV. I got that from an article by Jim Loeb.

As Loeb pointed out, this can't be good news for the administration. I certainly hope Mr. Wittington recovers but it would be nice if Cheney doesn't. Maybe he'll have to resign. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Peace
