Rasmussen says Casey numbers slipping in PA senate race
He claims the problem is that some dumb ass Democrats are willing to vote for a pro-choice candidate rather than Casey because of his pro-life stance as if thats the only issue in the election. sometimes i think the Democrat party is there own worst enemy.

1. Do you have a link or was this from personal conversations with Rasmussen?

2. Who knows who responded to the Rasmussen poll-takers, but
the tiny elves tell me that one Senator Rick Santorum is toast on November 7th.

4. That's hardly it
Casey isn't just pro-life. He's pro-war. He's anti-single payer health care. He expressed support for the nomination of both Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court. He said "I don't think I’d support" Feingold's resolution to censure Bush. He's indicated he doesn't think Bush has broken the law with the wiretappings.

Casey is most known simply because his father used to be governor. Most people dont' know his positions, and when Democrats learn his positions they start to back away. His positions don't represent most of ours.

5. Casey is only up by 9 points now

He still beats Santorum 50%-41%, but in a hypothetical question asking voters if they'll support Casey given his positions on abortion, he loses to Santorum by 5%. However, I would consider that later question to be similarto push-polling. I'm not surprised that the race is tightening. The question now is, are PA Democrats willing to put overall control of the Senate about their problems with Casey to beat K-Street-loving, school district money-stealing, Rick Santorum?

8. Unfortunately, we're back to an Election 2004 scenario
Where people voted for Kerry because they were voting AGAINST Bush. Now, Santorum, IMHO, is a million times more batshit crazy than the Idiot in Chief (at least public rhetoric)but telling Democrats who don't understand the bigger picture of controlling the Senate (people don't remember high school or college Government courses, sadly) is going to be a complicated task. While ideally, the country wants us to be in charge, the fact of the matter is that control comes downs to individual races, where the people defending the Repub incumbent will say "Not Senator_____. He's a good guy."

7. Casey is obviously better than Santorum
But why can't we have an actual democrat to run? ANY democrat would beat Santorum this year. He's done. So what do we do? We put forward a democrat that is anti-choice, pro-war, pro-alito, pro-roberts, anti-Feingold's censure motion, pro-wiretapping, anti-single payer health care....

Why? Why can't we actually just run oh...say a Democrat, for that seat?

9. OR, it could just be another BS BushCo corporate accomplice
doing what their master's have told them to do. Rassmussen's job is to slowly begin to make the race appear to be tightening. Each month, shave off another point. By November, the race will be, according to Rassmussen, within acceptable margins to let BushCo. steal it.
