American Caesar
by Ralph Nader

http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0408-21.htm

<snip>

More and more evidence of the workings of Caesar Bush are coming to public light. Just this week, in court filings by the prosecutor against the indicted I. Lewis Libby Jr., Dick Cheney's right hand man, another thunderbolt came forth. Mr. Libby testified that, in the words of The New York Times, "Mr. Bush, who has long criticized leaks of secret information as a threat to national security" himself approved Libby leaking just such information to the press in order to rebut a critic.

Democratic Senate Leader, Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) said that "in light of today's shocking revelation, President Bush must fully disclose his participation in the selective leaking of classified information," calling the President "the leaker in chief."

Not that the Democrats will do anything about this latest outrage, but the Republicans in the Congress are reaching certain limits to their self-censored sycophancy toward Caesar Bush. Also this week, Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales told a House Committee that the President may have the legal authority even to wiretap communications between Americans inside the United States without a court order. When pressured for his authority behind such breathtaking outlawry, he fell back on his usual Caesarean mantra - "his inherent role as commander in chief." Sounds like the modern version of the "divine right of Kings".

This was too much even for the House Judiciary Chair, Republican F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-Wisconsin), who accused the Bush administration of "stonewalling".

1. I really can not take
Ralph Nader seriously. There is too much information out there that he too is full of it.

3. I know there is still a lot...
...of bitterness toward Ralph out there and I understand the reasons for it, but he I think he's written a good and timely piece here.

2. Hey Ralph - still think * and Gore are
2 peas in a pod. Nader has some good things to say but I blame his egotism as much as anything for the prdicament we find ourselves in today.

5. Not at all. You've obviously never read
Bush's Commentaries on the Texas Rangers Stadium Wars. They're considered models of English writing, taught in schools everywhere.

Oh, and don't forget Dubya's scandalous affair with that Greco-Egyptian queen. . . .

6. Fuck Ralph Nader
If Walleye hadn't insisted in playing spoiler in 2000, we'd have been spared from watching Jethro Mussolini and the rest of his Nazi assclowns burn the Constitution after they wiped their asses with it. Nader should do the right thing by going on Jay Leno, whereupoin he confesses his sins, whips out a gun and blows his fuckin' brains out.

Sorry, but Walleye needs to shut the fuck up.

8. But Gore WON the election.. Nader didn't Spoil anything
Cognitive Dissonance among those who refuse to see reality.

and what are you going to say about 2004? that Nader spoiled that election too?

and what are you going to say in 2008 - if the indicators that point to a number of Third Party "Independents" pan out, and another election is stolen?

Because YOU didn't anything to help get rid of Diebold, ESS and Sequoia?

9. Ah, Street Team Walleye to the rescue ...

Yeah, right. Gore did win that election, but Ralphie made it close enough to steal. And if Walleye hadn't made it close enough to steal, the GOP wouldn't have been in a position to rig the 2004 election.

Face it. Your boy made it possible for the Bush fascists to install their regime in America.

And you know nothing about what I'm doing to help get rid of black-box voting. It's people like YOU that we can thank for the Bush dictatorship.

10. Well, actually I didn't have anything to do with it...
Edited on Sun Apr-09-06 06:13 PM by radio4progressives
but it apparently satisfies your reactionary and woefully misguded need to blame "people like me".....

paethetic.. It will be interesting to see you whine on about the next fixed elections in 06. and by the way, what did Nader have to do with Republican Majority in Congress, eh? .. how do you assigne blame for the fascists thugs there? and how are you going to assign blame on Nader for the next stolen Congressional elections in November? and who are you going to blame for all the scores of independents running for president in 08, if rumors prove out to be true?
