Pittsburgh Trib (Scaife): "DeLay bows out: A selfless move"
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 06:11 AM by RT_Fanatic
This is from last week, but I ran across it while sitting in a barbershop the other day:

DeLay bows out: A selfless move
Wednesday, April 5, 2006

Cynics will argue that Tom DeLay, under indictment in a trumped-up Texas election law "scandal," decided to leave Congress because a former top aide pleaded guilty to ancillary lobbying scandal charges and now is a cooperating witness.
That would be the easy assessment. And also the wrong one. For Mr. DeLay saw the political, not legal, writing on the wall.

First elected to Congress in 1984, DeLay -- a motivated, practical politician and master vote-counter -- quickly rose in Republican ranks, becoming majority leader without opposition in 2003. A dogged conservative (foes would say he's a Rottweiler), "The Hammer" demanded discipline and adeptly directed the GOP agenda.

1. I would say he was a vicious untrustworthy rabid cur.
Not to be confused with a Rottweiler.

2. ????????
:wtf: "Tom DeLay served his party and his country well -- and with a verve an often weaselly GOP Congress could use more of". :wtf:

Tom Delay IS the "often weaselly GOP"! I'm truly sorry that the people of Pittsburgh have to put up with this sort of revisionist bullshit in the guise of a "newspaper". Whoever wrote this is off their freakin' rocker! That's the most disgusting piece of crap I've ever read about Delay and that's saying a lot! :puke: I don't know how the people of Pittsburgh put up with it.

3. "Selfless" as in "completely unethical and cowardly"
What a chickenshit.
