Watch List Delays Reservist's Homecoming Wed Apr 12, 9:08 PM ET

MINNEAPOLIS - A Marine reservist returning home after eight months in Iraq was told he couldn't board a plane to Minneapolis because his name appeared on a watch list as a possible terrorist.

Staff Sgt. Daniel Brown, who was in uniform and returning from the war Tuesday with 26 other Marine military police reservists, was delayed briefly in Los Angeles until the issue was cleared up.

The other reservists arrived at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport as scheduled, but instead of immediately meeting their families, they waited on a bus for Brown.

1. If I was Brown, I'd be mad as all hell could be.

What kind of thanks is that? You risk your life on some distant battlefield to come home and find yourself on a list of possible terrorists? It's like cutting VA benefits is not good enough!

Last time I checked, folks who were behind the 9/11 attacks had names like Mohammed Atta, not Daniel Brown. Of course, if you count members of the Green Party as terrorists too or folks who are anti-war activists, then yeah, I guess his name would show up as it is a common name. :sarcasm:

2. or Richard Reid
or Tim McVeigh

Believe me, it sucks that this guy was detained. But it's not a good idea to focus only on people with Arabic-sounding names.

3. Here's another idea: WE DON'T NEED A WATCH LIST
It has done our nation more harm than good.
