NPR interview: America Under the Influence of Oil with Kevin Phillips
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5345281 click on "listen"

Mr. Phillips discusses the history of the linkage between Big Oil and government (goes back to the 1960's), how the military is being used as an "oil protection service", and why the Iraq war is part and parcel of that oil protection service.

Mighty interesting listening.

1. Just the 1960s?
I was under the impression that the Oil-and-State linkage goes back to the 1860s.
