Our best democratic gift to the world. Al Gore is quite simply, the best. Yeah, he should be President, but can we get him elected? Stupidity is rampant; he's just too intellectual, doncha know? I wish he and Clinton were friends again. The team, during their White House years, was fantastic.

3. Cohen will be on my shit list for the rest of his life |
|
Cohen is a part of that particular beltway crowd that is labeled liberal, but in reality, have but one loyality, and that is to their own continuing position in the beltway insiders club. Joe Klein is a member, as are Al Hunt, Margaret Carlson and Al's wife, Judy Woodruff. There aren't many so called liberal reporters in DC who aren't members.

4. Replying to all responders :-) |

Cohen has become (was always?) insufferable -- but keep your eye on the ball: any good buzz for any Democratic candidate is good -- it all goes into the "conventional wisdom" fabric...

5. It is somewhat amazing, |
|
these guys cannot write a good column about Al unless they slam him first. They should not be so intimidated by an intelligent President. I believe if Al Gore had raised his hand and stopped Katrina in it's tracks, they would say yes he saved the gulf coast but he is boring. I am still going to recommend this because at the very least he recognized Al's greatness.

Man I hope he runs.
You cannot see this film and not think of George W. Bush, the man who beat Gore in 2000. The contrast is stark. Gore -- more at ease in the lecture hall than he ever was on the stump -- summons science to tell a harrowing story and offers science as the antidote. No feat of imagination could have Bush do something similar -- even the sentences are beyond him.
Yep, the contrast is stark. It would leave a very deep impression.
