Translated into English, the German word Kristallnacht means night of broken glass. It refers to November 9, 1938, when organized anti-Jewish riots started in Germany and Austria. Yes, we must recall Kristallnacht and know that there are forces out there that want to complete the job. But the International Red Cross has no good standing in this issue whatsoever.

You may recall the woman who was forced to resign as head of the Red Cross last year. Part of her being forced out is that she insisted upon them accepting the Magen David Adom for full-fledged membership.

It was unseemly of me to use them as a source, I know, but this subject seems to touch so many people on DU in such different ways that I searched for a non-Jewish site.

today is the 9th of November which obviously means this is the EXACT date 65 years after the night of broken glass.

We should indeed remember Kritallnacht. The Holocaust is emblematic of the consequences of racial and ethnic hatred that should never again be visited on Jews or any other ethnic group or individual member of a group.
