speculates that China will 'eat our lunch' economically. Apparently she hasn't read Lester Brown's Plan B 2.0 , which shows early in his book that China cannot sustain a US-style economy (nor can India, or even the US for that matter) past say 2031.

Newsweek and the rest of the media really blew off the Earth Day message this year. Sustainability seems only to apply to military endeavors, apparently. Eternal war isn't good for the US or the rest of the planet, and they know it but push on. I guess General Electric's war investments hold sway.
