Ozone Al' for president in 2008?
He'll certainly get my vote and volunteerism.... again.

Published May 3, 2006

WASHINGTON -- If Al Gore is not planning to throw his hat in the ring for president in 2008, he's doing an excellent imitation of someone who is.

The former vice president officially has discouraged the notion that he will run for the White House again. But he is a man on a mission. And his cause is beginning to bear more than a passing resemblance to a national political crusade that, with a little tweaking here and there, could be transformed overnight into a weapons-grade presidential campaign.

On the road, Gore sounds almost like he's on the stump. He escalated his critiques of the Bush administration earlier this year, for example, by accusing President Bush's domestic eavesdropping program of violating the law.

2. Gore would be formidable in 2008
But you can already see the hatchets coming out and chopping him up over the same shit they chopped him up for in 2000. I believe that Gore threatens the corporatocracy, and this is why he is so reviled by much of the press.

Here's another simple refutation of the "liberal press." If it truly WERE a liberal press, they'd be fawning all over Al.

Reminds me of another point, if the press truly WERE a liberal press, they would have been laughing their asses off at Stephen Colbert's speech at the WH Press dinner this past Saturday. The crowd was practically silent with jaws dropping. That ain't no liberal press, Virginia.

3. The man who would be president
The country elected him and he never got to power. He's our leader in exile.

Look at what has befallen our people and the people of the world since the pretender/decider has commandeered the White House.

It seems to me that Gore is the one Democrat with the statesmanship to reverse the neoconservative tide once and for all, laying the foundations for a new progressive democratic era.

6. He'll get my vote if he runs
I live in the 4th congressional district in TN. He started right here with us and was an absolutely great congressman. I wish we had one like him now.
