Homeless Veterans; Reagan Would Be Proud

I remember when that wonderful super patriot Ronald Reagan, in an attempt to cut federal spending, cut federal funding to several programs that resulted in the loss of jobs for people who worked in the mental health industry. It also resulted in the “release” or “eviction” of many mental patients who had nowhere to live. This resulted the creation of the deranged homeless society that is still quite visible on the streets of New York City. How is that for compassion?

Snip:

I sit patiently as I wait for the day that the American public finally comes to the realization that supporting Republicans is not supporting the troops it is supporting the people who become rich because of the sacrifices made by the troops. It is the liberal, the compassionate liberal, the bleeding heart liberal, that supports our troops and it is high time that we establish this in the consciousness of American society. Think about it!

1. Who in their right mind would condone treating our veterans.........
....this way? :wtf: We ask so much of our veterans and I'm one of those who believe our veterans have bought and paid for every freedom we used to enjoy with their blood and lives. OMG, every time I read a story like this it just boils my blood. I believe our veterans and first responders should be given first priority on many issues. Yes, I'd believe that even if it meant I was put at a great disadvantage in favor of a veteran. I know, I know, I'll probably get flamed for that too but it won't change my view at all.

Then there is the issue of mental patients who through no fault of their own can't care for themselves and need society's help. For me it doesn't say much positive about this country when we don't make taking care of our own mentally disabled citizens who can't care for themselves. :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank:

I hated Reagan with a passion the first time I saw his mug on TV and never lost that hatred either. :puke It just boggled my mind why any state would vote an actor in as governor. Then when this country voted that same actor into the WH I lost a lot of respect for my fellow citizens. Since then we've had Idiot #41 and now, the worst of all Idiot #43. What have these people (using that term very loosely) done with their brains anyway?? :banghead:
