Channel Five was the first to warn you about lead-tainted chalk made for kids. That report lead to a nationwide recall Thursday, by the consumer product safety commission.

Government investigators say the chalk in question contains 10 to 100 times safe levels of lead. They know it's poisoned at least one little girl. And they believe it's still in some Minnesota toy boxes. But they didn't know what brand of chalk it was until now."

1. Must be due to that high level of quality control...
...in Walmart's Chinese slave camps.

2. Anything from China/Taiwan is suspect for lead. Been going on for years..

cayola crayons, dishes, toys with "lead paint." US banned it for toys, here for years, but "multinationals offshoring" get around the ban through some "import clause."

Not the first incidence of this. But, if you look on the box and it says, "Made in US," then you should start a lawsuit.

Just caution kids to "keep everything out of their mouth" is a good way of dealing with it...or monitor them. If you can't be with them alert your day care or home care facility about it...and tell them.. They don't want to get into legal problems and will listen.

Not much we can do when the Repugs tell us all our "known" body of scientific evidence is faulty.....:-( Just try to limit our kids exposure the best ways we can......
