According to General Wesley Clark--the Pentagon, by late 2001, was Planning to Attack Lebanon

"Winning Modern Wars" (page 130) General Clark states the following:

"As I went back through the Pentagon in November 2001, one of the senior military staff officers had time for a chat. Yes, we were still on track for going against Iraq, he said. But there was more. This was being discussed as part of a five-year campaign plan, he said, and there were a total of seven countries, beginning with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iran, Somalia and Sudan.

happy campers right now and may put pressure on the congress to turn around our foreign

5. The oil "distraction"

That list seems crafted by Israel and those genuinely concerned about terrorism AND are targets much easier than Iran. That would make the current march to Iran SEEM like a brush back distraction- which it is not. On the contrary, as Israel must now realize, Bush is going for bigger game and actually likes wartorn, terrorist nations. Perhaps the WH DOES have this as a to-do list, but the devil is in the larger priorities and conflicting lusts and the real focus of our leading schmucks.

Somalia and Sudan have some oil, but with all the people slaughtering themselves nicely an actual invasion would be a mercy, a mess, and necessarily a police action- not a looting mission. Iran is strong and they want it messed up, destabilized and the Iraq Win that never happened. It is very hard to get into the dark little minds of our hypocritical Coup leaders. At some point you have to set down the "policy" plans and their prior intentions and see where their bungling has modified things.

The NeoCon plans have been pushed back and altered to fit developments. IE. Look what's happening over there today. It's all apart of it.
