Israel, Iran and the US: Who Will be Blamed for Nuclear War?
http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=20060724&articleId=2807

The war on Lebanon may well escalate to the point where the US will use nuclear weapons against Iran, in what would be the first use of nuclear weapons in war since Nagasaki. And the world may well blame the Jewish State <1>, <2>.

-snip-

The irony is, Israel's war crimes are going to be dwarfed in comparison to the crime against humanity that would take place if the US uses nuclear weapons against Iran. Israel, by its disproportionate reaction and by accusing Iran (without proof) of being behind Hezbollah's actions <1>, <2>, <3> , <4>, will be seen as having played a key role if the conflict escalates to engulf Iran and the United States. Yet the motivation for those that want this to happen <1>, <2> is not to ensure Israel's hegemony in the Middle East, rather it is to ensure US hegemony in the world.

1. Ironically, that would put an end to what remains of U.S. hegemony

A U.S. or Israeli nuclear first-strike against Iran would cause the global trade and financial systems to collapse. Even if there was a recovery after a time, and no counter-strike, the U.S. and Israel would be viewed as parriah nations, and most of the world would decline to do business with them. That would lead to an implosion of the U.S. and Israeli economy and society.

"The fruits of victory would be ashes in our mouths."

The Generals know this, the CIA knows this, the Israelis know this, and so do the Iranians. Therefore, it isn't going to happen. This is an ugly game of chicken that's being played to compel Iran to make concessions, including giving up its nuclear program.

2. **PETITION AGAINST MILITARY ACTION AGAINST IRAN**
Folks - looks like we're on the cusp of WWIII and the attack on Iran will be the quick destruction of the US and life as we know it.

It is with grave concern that I observe the growing threat of a new U.S. war--this time against the people of Iran.

For a collection of articles and resources on this subject you can visit this link: http://reseaudesign.com/research/iran/iran_summery.html

I'm starting up a petition which I will be sending out to as many members of Congress as possible. I'm asking for help to get this signed by as many people, possible in the next month. Send it to as many people you can.

thanks,
J-shmoe
