Houston Chronicle's front page story on the two skinheads who assaulted
a young man with a patio umbrella, shoved and kicked into his rectum, beating & kicking him nearly to death, and leaving him lying in a yard for over 7 hours:

The boy, who is not being named since he was the victim of a sexual assault, has come a long way since he was found unconscious in Gus Sons' backyard.

He wasn't expected to survive the attack. Now, he has begun to make gains toward at least a limited recovery.

He remains at Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he recently began to walk short distances, Leon said. A tracheotomy tube, which prevented him from talking, has been removed. He can now talk but not well. He does not remember being assaulted.

Although he was kicked in the head with steel-toed boots, he does not appear to have suffered brain damage. He continues to undergo surgeries to repair damage to his internal organs and has begun rehabilitation to regain basic physical skills.

"If this had happened to someone my age, I'd be dead," said Leon, 37. "It happened to a pretty strong 17-year-old kid. That's why he's improving."

Public outcry

In late May, Turner and Tuck were indicted on a charge of aggravated sexual assault, for which they face up to life in prison if convicted.

I really hope this article doesn't serve to soften public perception of these two monsters. The article reveals that they claim they believe the boy they nearly murdered raped the girl. That's exactly what was NOT the case when the news was released immediately after the crime.

None of the witnesses even hinted that they thought this had happened. Not one.

This sounds like something they've thought up in later days to gain public sympathy.

I remember not recognizing him
Mrs. Galvan said of her son in
the days after the attack.

KHOU

You know the law has got to be
changed ...," said Mr. Galvan.

From very early on, the parents of a boy from Spring knew he’d be going places.

“This is when he was in kindergarten getting ready to graduate,” his mother said. “He was already telling everybody he was going to OU.”

They never dreamed their little boy would beat the center of a hate crime debate.

“They did things to him saying, ‘you’re Mexican, we don’t like you, and you’re going to pay for it,” his mother said.

His father said they told him, “We’re going to torture you.”

“And that’s what they did,” his mother said.

It was at a home in Spring when investigators say David Henry Tuck and Keith Robert Turner stomped the 16-year-old’s head with books, yelled racial slurs and sodomized him with an umbrella pole.

“They also poured bleach all over his body in hopes of destroying any evidence left behind,” Harris County Sheriff’s Department Lt. John Denholm said.

The Hispanic teen was attacked after a Saturday night party where he reportedly kissed a 12-year-old girl.

Investigators described the assault as one of the worst they’d ever seen.
