I predict this will happen next |
|
MOST if not all the democratic senators will put there support behind Lamont but I predict the media and pundits will try and spin it and say: (Well they support Lamont BUT they privately want Lieberman to win because they all know Lieberman)Mark my word this will happen. I watch the coverage this morning on all networks is was HORRIBLE!!! how they were covering the race they were all acting as if Lieberman will definitely win in Nov. they were all cheerleaders for Lieberman. they all keep saying he only lost by 4% they never say Lamont had 10,000 more votes than Lieberman.

1. 10,000 more votes than Joe, in a state the size of a school bus. |
|
That should say something, of course. Which is why they won't.

Like I said before, the media will make Joe LIEberman its darling, just like it did for McCain. Watch them downplay Lamont's win and call it a "lucky 4%" draw. They'll blame the blogosphere for hacking LIEberman's website. They are rooting for LIEberman all the way. However, me and a co-worker were just discussing this: all the media spin, pundits and pro-LIEberman Repugs will lose in the end. I actually think that their efforts will backfire. The Democratic party faithful will align themselves solidly behind Lamont; while those who wanted LIEberman to win will remain faithful. We shouldn't underestimate the political astuteness of the Dems in CT. They understand how crucial this seat is and proved it last night...
I say, BRING 'EM ON!!

that LIEberman's name will NOT be challenging Ned Lamont's come November after the scenario you laid out comes to pass. He's gonna see that what he's doing is exactly the thing he railed against last night. The politics of division-only now he is the one who looks to divide the party he claims to still be a part of.

when he sees he has no support from dems and when it becomes painfully obvious he has NO CHANCE to win-maybe he'll have a moment of clarity and see WHY he's garnering so much republican support...and no,I have no use for a bridge-I live in flat Florida and at the moment ain't looking for a p[lace to jump from..;)

5. And This Surprises You? |
|
This is your editorial? I could have told you this days or even weeks ago. Once he came close enough to make it look interesting, the Corporate Media was going to run with it, and in his general direction.
What? You thought they were suddenly going to embrace Lamont? When do you expect this to happen? Now? September? October? Maybe if he wins, but I bet they downplay the whole subject, "they" being everybody except Olbermann, Stewart or Colbert, but when they do cover it, they'll focus on Joe.
That's what they do! If it bothers you, don't watch their coverage. You're encouraging them by doing so.

I think the voters in the nutmeg state will rally around Lamont in the end and ignore the mainstream media's analysis of the situation. Although I think Lieberman is a great man and a great senator, but his career in office is over. Running as an independent is just a bad idea and will do more harm to his reputation than good.
