Kucinich Calls for Abolishing Nuclear Weapons

Marks 61st anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings

On July 26, Congressman Kucinich introduced H. Res. 950, Calling for the abolition of all nuclear weapons. Before introducing the resolution, Kucinich said:

"August 6, 2006, will mark the 61st anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, which obliterated the city and killed about 140,000 people. Today 30,000 nuclear weapons remain in the world. Many nuclear weapons are deployed. Any use of nuclear weapons would be unthinkable devastation. The only way to prevent the use of nuclear destruction is to abolish all nuclear weapons."

Kucinich is joined by 11 cosponsors: Tammy Baldwin (WI), John Conyers (MI), Maurice Hinchey (NY), Marcy Kaptur (OH), Barbara Lee (CA), James McGovern (MA), Gwen Moore (WI), James Moran (VA), Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC), Fortney Pete Stark (CA), and Lynn Woolsey (CA). H. Res. 950 has been referred to the Committee on International Relations.

8. Get rid of Nuclear weapons so you can go biological or chemical.

You can always change to particle weapons.

This is a good sentiment but unless you change human nature, hairless apes will always find a way to kill with efficiency.
