TOP TEN MATCHUPS IN A BUSH VS. AHMADINEJAD DEBATE
While Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently challenged President Bush to a televised debate, we all know this has about the same chance of coming off as the Confederate Flag tattoo on George Allen’s buttocks. But it might still be fun to take a sneak peek at the “tale of the tape” in a hypothetical match-up between these two flyweights (which, for you boxing novices, is even less than a lightweight). So here goes:

10. Height — Ahmadinejad: Five-two. Bush: Six, same as IQ.

9. Reach – Ahmadinejad: Throughout Middle East. Bush: Only up to Cheney’s office.

8. Language – Ahmadinejad: Farsi. Bush: Farce-ee.

7. Favorite debate prop – Bush: Radio transmitter. Ahmadinejad: Nuclear reactor.

6. Actions while “Young and Irresponsible” — Ahmadinejad: Joining Iranian Revolutionary Guard and taking hostages. Bush: Dodging National Guard and taking cocaine.

5. Flight from Reality – Ahmadinejad: Denies Holocaust. Bush: Denies Evolution.

4. Gender Policies — Ahmadinejad: Wants women covered head-to-toe. Bush: Administration outs Valerie Plame.

3. Short-term goal — Ahmadinejad: Taking Iran “nuclear.” Bush: Pronouncing the word “nuclear.”

2. Long-term goal — Ahmadinejad: Creating theocracies in region. Bush: Creating theocracy at home.

1. Chief Threat — Ahmadinejad: The Great Satan. Bush: An educated nation.

1. The thing driving me crazy about this idea is the prospect of a half-sane
dictator doing a better job at debating * than Al Gore.

3. Bush is five foot ten at the MOST!

I've seen his official height at five-eleven, but I'm sure that's only because he could never get away with saying that he's six feet tall. From the Whitehouse.gov web site:

The G8 leaders pose of a photograph at Konstantinvosky Palace in Strelna, Russia, Sunday, July 16, 2006. From left, they are: Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi; German Chancellor Angela Merkel; United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair; French President Jacques Chirac; Russian President Vladimir Putin; President George W. Bush; Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi; Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper; Finnish Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen; and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

I doubt it's an accident that he's standing between two of the shortest people. All we have to do is find out how tall the Finnish guy is and we'll know for sure!

On Edit: here are photos of Georgie in foot races. No one is taller than him in either one. What are the odds?

Hadda' "stretch" it a bit to make it fit (Oh no! I sound like Johnny Cochran.) But thanks for reading me and taking the time to comment.
