We just posted a great web exclusive by our political editor, Ruth Conniff. It's called "Denigrating Women Who Change Diapers." Conniff takes issue with philosopher Linda Hirshman, who says that "Ph.D.s who are wiping butts" are "horrible" and "immoral." Conniff explains how offensive that comment is to a whole range of people. "This is the sort of thinking that gives feminism a bad name," says Conniff. Please share this with the young mothers and fathers you know, whether they have Ph.D.s or not.

I've been reading Bush's rhetoric these days and am amazed that he gets away with the fascism and communism comparisons to terrorism. In "Bush Wheels Out Lenin and Stalin," I try to unpack some of the fallacies there.
