Is it really any surprise that the Bush Administration has been cynically exploiting Evangelical Christians for political purposes, and actually mocking them behind their backs? As documented in a new book, Tempting Faith: An Inside Story of Political Seduction, David Kuo, former deputy director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in the Bush White House, gives us the dope on the dopes leading on the dopes.
But the full story hasn’t really been told by Mr. Kuo. This reporter, in private conversations with the Almighty himself, has it on very reliable authority that the following are the actual comments made by Karl Rove and company:
