NRCC, NRSC Target / Defense Lists
by Chris Bowers, Tue Oct 24, 2006 at 02:28:57 PM PST

If what I have done this week hasn't already caused my fair share of winger heads to explode, this one will almost certainly allow me to meet my quota. I have acquired a leaked spreadsheet of the forty Republican-held seats the NRCC feels are most vulnerable, with detailed information on the way they are looking at each race. I also have an overview of eleven races the NRSC is looking at, and I combined it into one page. Here it all is:

I just got this, and I haven't had time to look it over closely, but offhand the story is this: even internal Republican figures show they are really struggling this year. It looks like right now, they expect to lose about four Senate seats and about 21 House seats. . . .

1. The Dems will need to flood 12 House and 2 Senate races with
top notch ads that speak to and refute the specific Repub ads running in some red hot districts.
Like taxes...Clinton did it. He gave tax breaks to middle class while raising taxes on the wealthy and balanced the budget.

Like the hypocrisy of Republican political stance on illegal immigration. They hire or have hired illegals as domestic workers and they speak about tough legislation against illegals but fail to really do anything about enforcement of laws against corporations and businesses that hire illegals.

Like minimum wage...The Republicans wanted tax breaks for the wealthy and used that to thwart a minimum wage increase.

Goverment has expanded, the deficit has increased, illegal immigration has increased, the super rich and rich have gotten richer and the middle class squeezed...all under this Republican-controlled administration and Congress.

Crime rates have increased all over the US under the two Bush administrations and the Republican controlled Congress (this used to be one of the hot inciting issues during the Reagan years). I think the Dems should raise it again and demonstrate how the deep cuts under the Republican administration to law enforcement programs that were started under the Clinton administration have left our law enforcement forces short of necessary resources to better control crime.

Like corruption that has cost many working class their pensions al a ENRON and how the Republican administration used some sleazy legislation to enable several companies to commit similar fraud on employees.

Hell just a few short ads to remind people of these things ENRON, Katrina, 9/11, energy, healthcare
Bush's "signing statements" and move toward a tyrannical state, loss of respect around the world.

There is so much out there that ordinary people can relate to. Some ads directly refuting those smear ads that the Repubs are running and will be running in the coming two weeks. Dems need to specifically address an negative ad and as quickly as possible an in the venue where the Repubs are trying to appeal to their base.
