Republicans running against themselves -- Blazing saddles and desperation!
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 07:37 PM by CLW
Maureen Dowd's Wednesday October 25 column describes our fearless leaders spinning in circles.

Some great points here:

"The administration has never really said what "the course" is, so it was never really apparent what "staying" it meant, anyhow."

"The Bushes don't connect words with action... The Bushes just connect words with salesmanship."

"It's a hilarious spectacle of a whole party reenacting the classic scene in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" in which the sheriff holds the gun to his own head to take himself hostage."

"W just has to hope that James Baker, the smooth fixer . . . comes up with a plan to rescue Junior from a fine mess one more time."

Sorry, no link, won't pay for NY Times editorial access online! Rather send my $$ to DU!
