Soldier Killed Herself After Objecting to Interrogation Techniques (FOIA)

Revealed: U.S. Soldier Killed Herself After Objecting to Interrogation Techniques

The true stories of how American troops, killed in Iraq, actually died keep spilling out this week. Now we learn, thanks to a reporter's FOIA request, that one of the first women to die in Iraq shot and killed herself after objecting to harsh "interrogation techniques."

But in this case, a longtime radio and newspaper reporter named Kevin Elston, unsatisfied with the public story, decided to probe deeper in 2005, "just on a hunch," he told E&P today. He made "hundreds of phone calls" to the military and couldn't get anywhere, so he filed a Freedom of Information Act request. When the documents of the official investigation of her death arrived, they contained bombshell revelations. Here’s what the Flagstaff public radio station, KNAU, where Elston now works, reported yesterday:

“Peterson objected to the interrogation techniques used on prisoners. She refused to participate after only two nights working in the unit known as the cage. Army spokespersons for her unit have refused to describe the interrogation techniques Alyssa objected to. They say all records of those techniques have now been destroyed….”

1. That travesty passed on Oct 17 was a club the junta could use
ON OUR OWN TROOPS!

Recall how irate bush was while he lobbied for that dictatorial power? He was enraged. He talked about the 'need for clarity for the young INTEL officer' in matters of what methods of interrogation could be used.

You can be damned sure that meant there have been many Young INTEL Officers who have refused to torture on the basis that they were given illegal orders. The junta had a mutiny on their hands and it scared the shit out of them!

They need that bill 'for clarity' so they could lock away any 'young INTEL officer' who had a spine and dared to say 'No, sir, I will not execute that illegal order...'

bush doesn't like the word NO. Cheney doesn't like the idea that the common man can have principles and stand on them. They needed dictatorial powers because they were being challenged.

And we need to honor this young woman's integrity by making sure all America learns her story.

2. It took Three years to get the real story out
Thankfully for the work of a reporter and "The Freedom of Information Act"
the real story came out that the military were hiding the truth about her death and the torture.

"Army spokespersons for her unit have refused to describe the interrogation techniques Alyssa objected to. They say all records of those techniques have now been destroyed…."

For what noble cause was Army Specialist Alyssa Peterson sent to Iraq for?

Please tell me...

Someone...

ANYONE?

I did a Google search on this beautiful woman, and discovered quite a bit about her:

She was spent 18 months abroad as a Christian missionary: http://www.azcentral.com/specials/special45/articles/profiles-part2.html

Her artwork is for sale to help promote humanitarian aid to people in need worldwide, @
