Isn't it strange how when the Republican's are down, they throw one of their own to the wolves? Apparently it was known in the Republican community about the Mark Foley issues with Pages, why so close to election did they "Out" him. The reporter who broke the story stated that the person who outted him was from the Republican Party.
Since then, more stories have broken, more rumors have been spreading around. Do you know why?
It seems the Republican party wants to stir the conservative pot just as he is trying to stir up Republicans and Conservatives alike with his new slogan "What's Your Plan?". Bush would like to get the people who voted for him stir'ed up so he can get out the vote.
Personally, I hope this fires up the "Gay/Lesbian" voters and they join us in removing the Right Wing/Conservatives out of the Govt.

1. Maybe the republican let the media know because Foley was |

screwing around with underage boys and not because he was gay?

3. Please explain how showing that the repubs covered up for a |

pedophile is supposed to energize conservatives into voting for them.

I should have added the Gay Marriage issue.
By bringing up these issues, it is going to energize the Conservative party. The Conservatives that tend to vote Republican are going to wake up and say "I'm not voting for this guy because he support gay marriage".
I hope I made that clearer.

7. The problem is your theory violates the first rule of being a republican |
|
Rule #1: You never attack a fellow republican.
Ronnie Reagan is well known for harping on this. Bush II, the Lesser has taken this to an extreme. He virtually never gets rid of a pubbie, but God help the person who is seen as disloyal.
I don't disagree that the reps are trying to flog gay marriage. At this point they're throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the Dems in the vain hope that something will stick.
Not to mention the fact that by outing people w/in their own party they're guilty by association, especially if it can be shown that the party leadership knew about their orientation. Once you start looking at one, then who else might be?
This wasn't some devious plan. They are corrupt and their corruption is coming home to roost. They covered for Foley because they valued power over all else.

Although I am a Democrat, I have a good deal of respect for Reagan and followed his days in and out of office closely. Bush II is no Reagan... and I wouldn't put it past Bush/Rove to attack anyone who he feels is not towing the party line. The reporter who first released the story- when asked if this was leaked/released by someone from the Democratic party, the reporter denied it came from someone from the Democratic party- rather it came from someone from the Republican party. I have a feeling we are just going to disagree on whether Foley got caught or was fed to the wolves, however, it is high time that the Republicans pay the price on their many indiscretions such as the Abrahmoff scandal..etc..etc. This is the most corrupt Govt. I have ever seen.
Irregardless. (Tin Foil Hat Time) I think '06 is small peanuts for Bush/Rove and that 2008 is the big picture. What better way to show how bad the Democrats are than to use the next 2 years to prove his point. He will continue to lead this country in the wrong direction and then blame it on the folks who voted for the Democratic party in '06. I believe one of my previous Journal entries touches on this.

I'm gay and I always vote.
As for our own Democratic Party, I'm really dismayed at Hillary Clinton's cowardice and pandering nature. She really makes me want to vomit. I read a little blurb about her in the NYT this morning, and I was just disgusted. She wants gay support, yet she is so afraid to go out on any kind of limb. She's going to have to do it to get my vote.

10. You either like her or hate her. |
|
She has a great deal of supporters but by the same token, she has many people who would not support her.
Despite her misgivings, I like her. I like her as Senator but I think there are better choices on the Democratic side for President. Although we are two years away, I'm leaning towards Gore- His ideals closely match mine.
