Is President Bush Sane? (Paul Craig Roberts 12-02)
Is President Bush Sane?

By Paul Craig Roberts

12/02/06 "Information Clearing House"

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article15799.htm

excerpt:

Bush’s astonishing determination to deny Iraq reality was made the same day that the US-installed Iraqi prime minister al-Maliki and US puppet King Abdullah II of Jordan abruptly cancelled a meeting with Bush after Bush was already in route to Jordon on Air Force One. Bush could not meet with Maliki in Iraq, because violence in Baghdad is out of control. For security reasons, the US Secret Service would not allow President Bush to go to Iraq, where he is “building a stable democracy.”

Bush made his astonishing statement in the face of news leaks of the Iraq Study Group’s call for a withdrawal of all US combat forces from Iraq. The Iraq Study Group is led by Bush family operative James A. Baker, a former White House chief of staff, former Secretary of the Treasury, and former Secretary of State. Baker was tasked by father Bush to save the son. Apparently, son Bush hasn’t enough sanity to allow himself to be saved.

2. Define Sanity
I think he's a psychopath and a lazy, ignorant fool. Sanity, or lack thereof, is just the frosting on the cake. An energetic, functional psychopath (like Rove) causes much more damage. An insane person couldn't do as much havoc as Bush has, but most of the damage was done by his appointees and hires.

If he were seriously insane, somebody in the system would have worked to remove him by now. But psychopaths stick together, and Bush knows them all by nickname.

5. Those that make their own reality are by definition not sane...
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 09:26 PM by Wrinkle_In_Time
"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

A link, for those who don't remember.

These people, to quote Louis Black, are deLUSIONal (or probably psychotic).

/Proud member of the reality-based community.

7. He is "Sane" (my opinion), however he is mentally ill.
Sanity is a legal term.

Wikipedia has an excellent definition: see link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanity

"Sanity considered as a legal term denotes that an individual is of sound mind and therefore can bear legal responsibility for his or her actions. It is generally defined in terms of the absence of insanity. It is not a medical term, although the opinions of medical experts are often important in making a legal decision as to whether someone is sane or insane. It is also not the same concept as mental illness. One can be acting under profound mental illness and yet be sane, and one can also be ruled insane without an underlying mental illness."

As for mental illness I maintain he is a classic "Narcissistic Personality Disorder". He should be held accountable for his actions as well as those who promoted (allowed) a President that is all to clearly mentally ill.

9. I disagree
Narcissism is not necessarily a reflection of insanity. Nor is arrogance. Nor is foolishness. Nor is stubbornness. Nor is greed.

Sorry... he's sane. Simply incapable of empathy, uncaring about the American people who are dying, and singleminded about the ability to gain personal profit from the war for himself and his friends. From what I understand, there are lots of people still profiting from this war.

So why should it end before while it can still be milked for profit?

11. Well, being without empathy is the very definition
of 'psychopath'. From dictionary.com: psy·cho·path
n.
A person with an antisocial personality disorder, manifested in aggressive, perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior without empathy or remorse.

Isn't this Our Great Leader in a nutshell?
