The Incredibly, Unbelievably, Stupendously, Incurious George Bush
The Incredibly, Unbelievably, Stupendously, Incurious George Bush
by Cenk Uygur | Dec 9 2006 - 9:20am

Never has there been a public official more unequipped to be President of the United States of America than George W. Bush. The man is simply not up to the job. Even if he really wanted to be or cared to be an effective president, he ... could ... not ... do ... it.

He can't do it on a boat, he can't do it with a (pet) goat. He can't do it in the Green Zone, he can't do it back at home. This man cannot be a good president, Sam-I-Am.

He flat out does not have the intellectual capacity to carry out the requirements of the job. This is not some mean-spirited speculation as to the level of his intelligence. The facts are in. There is nothing left to speculate on. And today we have yet another example of his sheer inability to form a cognitive thought.

Lawrence Eagleburger is a Republican. He was the Secretary of State under George H.W. Bush and was a prominent figure in the Reagan administration. He is a party stalwart and one of the bastions of the Republican establishment. This man obviously wants George W. Bush to succeed. When he met with President Bush, along with all of the members of the Iraq Study Group, he said that after they presented their findings - Bush asked no questions.

1. He's right about the significance of the 7 minute freeze in the classroom
Any competent leader would have been consulting with aides, getting the best picture he could as soon as possible. The "he didn't want to scare the children" excuse is the biggest pile of crap I've ever heard - no child thinks an adult they've never met before has to sit in front of them whatever happens; and no adult thinks watching a class of children read is more important than directing your country in a crisis. The time he spent sitting there, effectively with his thumb in his mouth, shows (a) he had no clue, (b) his aides knew he had no clue, and they were better off without him getting in the way.

Astonishing as it was that some people voted for Bush in the first place, I would have thought that classroom would have finished him off, electorally. A proper attack ad against him could have just been him sitting there, with a clock ticking, and then a question: This man is going to keep you safe? Vicious, but deserved.

2. It is incredible how frequently he has no questions
That's unfathomable to me. I'm curious about everything by nature; I cannot imagine asking no questions.

3. Just like he asked no questions during a pre-Katrina briefing
He just sat there, contributing nothing, asking nothing.

If it's not part of his immediate agenda, he just doesn't give a shit.

4. W needs to ask no questions: his mind is already made up on every issue because with divine
guidance from the Almighty, the uniter unites and the decider decides: don't bother him with the facts, with reason, with sane ideas, with reality,.... And you know, tens of millions of Amurikans still support the man and his every policy and action.

5. I'd like to see an MRI of Bush's brain.......
Back in my last attempt at college I was required to attend a class on Drug/Alcohol abuse. They had some MRI's of chrionic alcoholics in their 20's that looked like swiss cheese. I suspect Bush is completely wracked by his drinking and simply cannot think.
