MAY 04, 2007 -- Former Vice President Al Gore canceled plans late last week to keynote the opening session of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Show on May 6 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill., citing "personal reasons." He had been under contract to speak since the fall of 2006.

1. Maybe he was afraid he'd got off his diet?

5. Makes sense. He has a busy schedule next week

Tomorrow he will be in San Antonio at an architect's convention... then on Tuesday he will be at a Maryland forum... Then by Friday he will be at a global warming presentation in Chile. I could see then him cancelling Sunday as I am sure he needs time to rest as well. Hopefully that is all there is to it and nothing else concerning his safety.
