AG Prediction: Gonzalez out, Hatch in By Jackson Williams
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jackson-williams/ag-prediction-gonzalez-_b_48879.html

Alberto Gonzalez may be holding on as head of the Justice Department until next weekend when Congress takes its Memorial Day break, which would allow W an immediate recess appointment to fill the post.

This makes sense. And this means Bush has already got Al's successor lined up.

To avoid further antagonisms with Congress, the choice is.....Orrin Hatch of Utah.

He's not young and he's not up for reelection until 2012. He's bored silly, it shows, and the prospect of being in the minority for the rest of his current term can't be too exciting; the same reason John Warner in Virginia is probably going to retire before his own '08 reelection.

Finishing up his career as AG would be a nice resume closer for Hatch, it'll pipe down his colleagues in the Senate on both sides of the aisle, and at the end of the day it will be said that he restored trust with the legislative branch, integrity to the Department, blah blah blah.

THAT ASSUMES CONGRESS GOES HOME---I WOULDN'T BET ANY MONEY ON THAT ANY MORE.

4. I'm still holding out hope for Senator Box Turtle
replacing Abu G, though after his cursing match with McCain he probably lost a confirmation vote. Hatch grudgingly acknowledged, is the Republican-logical choice; the GOP doesn't lose a beat in the Senate, with a gubernatorial appointment and then a special election.

7. Monica Goodling gets job for her Boyfriend!....as Assistant US Attorney
On my website I’ve exposed Monica Goodling and her boyfriend/Assistant US Attorney for Virginia Richard Parker (with 4 pictures)…. (she most likely got him the job)

Its already been reported that the US Attorney for Western Virginia, John Brownlee, was the FIRST name on the list of 5 possible candidates for firing ……

… Perhaps it would be pertinent to ask how Goodling’s boyfriend got the job as Assistant U.S. Attorney in Virginia… and perhaps it might be a good time to figure out why the US Attorney from Virginia (a battleground state) was put on the termination list….

8. That's stupid. Hatch could probably easily get confirmed. He should not accept a recess appt., I
think this report may be bogus. I can believe the part about Bush wanting to do a recess appointment. I just don't think it will be Hatch if he does.
