So You Think I'm Crazy? Just Wait
by Timothy Gatto | May 23 2007

The US carrier group heads into the Straits of Hormuz in broad daylight, showing the might of the American civilization to the bastard, irresponsible, criminal State of Iran. Meanwhile, the Democratic Congress caves in to the administrations demand that the troops be funded so that we may keep the fight for something or other going on in our new conquered (well, somewhat conquered) Middle East State of Iraq. The Congress yields to Bush on funding the troops because they have no spine. The news tonight (CBS, with Katie Couric) charged that Iran has kidnapped Americans working inside their country, while American troops are increasingly finding more and more Iranians working inside of Iraq.

What perfect crap. Any American that believes that Iran is a threat to America deserves to suffer all the consequences that will erupt if we attack them. The big problem here is that the 75% of Americans that don’t want war will still suffer the consequences. I heard that Iran just signed a treaty with Belarus. Is that odd? No, it’s not odd. Iranians happen to have relations with the rest of the world, even if we refuse to negotiate with them. In fact, one of Iran’s leading trading partners is The Commonwealth of Independent States (Russia). In fact, Iran buys much of its hard goods and technology from Russia.

So here we are in the United States, banging the drums again. The President’s loyal friend Alberto “Lying Ass” Gonzales is not poised to fall on his sword for his friend. This means that the Democrats can use him for target practice. Maybe throwing Alberto from office will show the Democrats that they really don’t suffer from PD (political dysfunction). Maybe they will actually get some cojones and start investigating how we got into this war, who authorized the wiretaps, and why has New Orleans been hung out to dry!

It’s hard to live in this country with a chronic case of rage. What’s harder is hearing idiot commentators on television telling the people of the nation bullshit propaganda that comes directly out of the Dick’s office. You KNOW he is selling snake oil, yet people you talk to act as if everything is peachy. We have two criminals entrenched in the Capitol running our Nation, and the Constitution into the ground, and people are walking around like nothing’s happening. Meanwhile the Carrier Group joins the other Carrier Groups in the area and the United States, land that I love, starts playing “knock the chip off my shoulder” with the Iranians.

snip//

Saudi Arabia hates Iran. Bush does just what Saudi Arabia wants him to do. Nineteen of the hijackers of 9/11 were Saudi Arabian nationals. Al Qaeda is largely funded by the benevolent nation of Saudi Arabia so that they won’t go into Saudi Arabia and bring their Jihad back home to the secular leaning House of Saud. Yet it’s been proven again and again that the entire Bush family is in bed with the Saudi’s. The Cheney’s too. Meanwhile, Joe Blow blames the high price of gasoline on the Arabs, when it’s Exxon/Mobil and Texaco and Shell that are pulling anti-trust rackets all over the globe. The problem with the price of gasoline is in his own backyard! Complain forever, you have oilmen in the Whitehouse. You would think that the Democrats would jump on that fact. The price of oil rises 50% with oilmen in the Whitehouse, yet they are strangely quiet about it. Why? Probably because they are being paid off by Big Oil too! When it cost’s millions of dollars to run a Congressional race, they need every donation they can get.

OK, I’m a little bitter. Maybe I’m an alarmist. Just wait until we are at war with Iran and arguing about funding that too. Wait until Bush “temporarily” suspends the Constitution. Wait until the Republicans steal ANOTHER Presidential election. Just wait until you company gives you a pink slip because they are moving to China and you’re flipping burgers at McDonalds along with your son who’s trying to pay back $30,000.00 of student loans. Just wait until you’re pissed off because they put that fence up between our country and Mexico because YOU want to go to Mexico! Just wait. Keep ignoring what’s happening. Just keep thinking that I’m bitter, but I have to tell you one thing…I don’t make this stuff up.

16. The six identified 'hijackers' is no conspiracy theory, at least not
ion the conventional sense. Six UNidentified people stole the identites of six persons who were later found to be alive and well. Presumably. But we don't know, really, how many hijackers there were. Were the people using the stolen identities hijackers? Presumably. But we don't know. We don't know if ANY of the hijackers were who the government says they were. They were never apprehended, and those persons who may or may not have identified them under torture at Gitmo would, like anyone being tortured, have identified their own mothers to be the hijackers if they thought it would stop the torture.

We only know what the government tells us, and we know this government lies about everything. So what do we really know?

29. We know they lie.
That is enough.

To use Al Gore's words, they continually assault our reason, frankly, I think there is hope. We have to look beyond the immediate gains and focus on the real battle.

To save our nation.

He will run.

Al Gore was born to be President.

8. I don't know if we care about the Saudi's as much as we do Israel, BUT I think this
is about trying to keep our oil-based economy going. Iran has threatened to trade its oil in euros instead of dollars, a move that would collapse our economy. We'll also attack Iran if we need to punish China for not playing ball with us economic and trade-wise (China gets its oil from Iran, which is why at christmastime we sent our top treasury guys to tell them 'how'd you like to go without oil for a couple of months?') so....I think there are lots and lots of things that make us want to bomb iran---Iran itself just doesn't happen to be one of them.

11. Chronic state of rage, indeed.
Another graph:

What the hell has Iran done to us? The hostages are ancient history. Don’t you think we’re even by now after we armed Saddam to the teeth with modern weapons and chemical munitions and turned him loose against Iran and then kept him supplied for eight years? Wasn’t that enough of a payback? Do you really believe that this crusade against Iran is really about nuclear weapons? The truth is, it has nothing to do with nuclear weapons and everything to do with taking Americans eyes off of the crimes our government has been committing for the last six years. It has everything to do with using force to get our way in the Middle East. It has everything to do with appeasing Saudi Arabia that has their hands so far up the Bush Administrations ass that they can make this President’s mouth move with two fingers.

I needed something to energize me again this morning after the cowardly spectacle we've witnessed over the past two days. Thanks for the recharge.

20. Suspend Constitution, martial law - it's coming. See his face today? Think Reichstag fire.
Did you see the look on Chimp's face today? He has had it. All this annoying questioning and disagreement has him doing a major burn. This guy's temper is not to be underestimated. I have predicted that an election in 2008 is unlikely, unless Rove could guarantee the fix is in. His clumsy attempt to do so via placing U.S. attorney flunkies in place is revealed, and even though the Dems don't have the guts to put his arse in a seat under oath before the Senate, that still won't fly anymore. The attack on Iran is coming; maybe that's the Reichstag fire. Maybe something else. At any rate, you indeed can't make this stuff up.

Babylonsister has it right. It's crazy not to expect the worst out of this bunch. In fact, it's nuts to not expect anything but.

23. they're cornered and they'll stop at nothing
The republicons and their corporate masters know that they'll be out of power for another entire generation.
The damage they've done to their own party may actually be fatal. (We can only hope)
Short of open rebellion we have no method of applying the coup de gras to this wounded beast before January 2009.
Still sporting the lipstick applied to it by the lapdog media, this foul wounded pig of a party is bound to charge us. This will take the form of an effort to cancel the 2008 elections.
I see a false flag nuke identified as one of Saddam's used against a Democratic city and state.
I hope I'm wrong, but the idea of the Republicons masturbating at the fantasy of a large scale terrorist attack in 1999 keeps returning to the top of the que.

Very well said!

Maybe that's why the have's and the have-more's have "taken over" the DLC...

Perhaps it's their "Plan B" for they sure don't want any of their retirement plans "reduced" by a few hundred millions.

You know, it takes an awful lot of "ca$h" to campaign for any seat, and their "Plan B" political party's leaders know it...

Donations from citizens only would never suffice.

We, the People, are screwn.

They never listen to us.

I am book-marking this thread, so I can say 'I am still waiting' a year from now. There are alot of real things to be angry about. Lies that have been told, money that has been stolen, and people who have been maimed or killed. There's no need to invent things out of a boiling rage and fevered imagination - horrible evil things that are gonna happen. War with Iran! Suspension of the constitution! The sky is falling! Er, it's in imminent danger of falling!! Some people have been sure that we are about to goto war with Iraq since at least before the November elections, if not well before. Is there an expiration date for these Nostradamuses? If we get to August without a war or an obvious suspension of the constitution can we call for a moratorium on dire predictions of imminent doom? Or do we have to wait until 20 Jan 2009? God help us here if one of the Republicans who are currently leading in the polls against leading Democrats wins the White House. It's sure to be 'theft', and even if Clinton wins in March of 2009 people spooked by 'da Rove' will be saying 'watch Ditka, he's got something planned. Watch him!'

Great rant, but....
the price of gas has actually risen 100% since the Oil Men in the White House took over. Gas was $1.59 a gallon when Bush took office (literally). The national average is now somewhere around $3.20 a gallon so that would make it a 100% increase. And this from the guy who ran on a platform that said, "oil prices are too high. I'll jawbone the Saudis into opening up the taps....." yada, yada, yada. :eyes:

Of course, 9/11 changed everything. :sarcasm: It sure did. It gave them carte blanch to rob not only the U.S. treasury and Iraq, but the American people as well.

The Texas-American Petroleum Mafia (exxon/mobile) and the Military Industrial Complex worked long and hard to get their boys into the White House. The bush* family have been loyal minions of the Saudi royal family ever since there has been a Saudi royal family.

This OP is right-the-fuck spot on!!! Unfortunately no exaggeration here.
