‘Wild-Eyed’ Bush Thumped Chest While Repeating ‘I Am The President’
Source: Thinkprogress

Georgie Anne Geyer writes today in the Dallas Morning News about President Bush’s strange behavior during a recent meeting with “riends of his from Texas.”

But by all reports, President Bush is more convinced than ever of his righteousness.

Friends of his from Texas were shocked recently to find him nearly wild-eyed, thumping himself on the chest three times while he repeated “I am the president!” He also made it clear he was setting Iraq up so his successor could not get out of “our country’s destiny.”

This is the second time in recent weeks that accounts have surfaced of Bush lashing out or “ranting” in private meetings when responding to criticism of his Iraq policy. Chris Nelson of the Nelson Report offered a similar account earlier this month...

2. Wow, and I believe Geyer is pretty conservative.
But that bit about Iraq and our country's desting is pretty fucking scary.

Congress needs to stop pretending he's an ordinary crappy president already!:banghead:

11. Memorial Day speech
In his Memorial Day speech at Arlington Cemetery he called Iraq 'the nation's destiny'. He is now a Messiah and my biggest fear is he won't leave and will declare martial law before the next election.

23. She's a good enough journalist to not let that get in the way
I remember her riviting discriptions of meeting the Ayatollah in Paris about thirty years ago. She was fascinated with the man and creeped out at the same time.

Note this also comes from the Dallas Morning News, which isn't exactly aligned with Z-Mag.

Somewhere among friends and away from the press. A barbecue? At which he was drinking?

18. this is exactly why I support a one-term limit on the Presidency
Insane people like the current occupant who know how to play the system to stay in power must be contained somehow if we're going to survive as a democracy.

25. If we had one six year term like Mexico, Bush would still have been president until Jan 07
and most of his damage would have already been done.

Problem with being president is like the last month or two of every school year--kids don't do any work. But if you make the last day of school earlier, they just start doing nothing sooner.

If Bush had just one term, he would have done twice the damage in half the time.
