2. And As for Friedman, Words Fail Me

The Middle East didn't get itself tied in such an impossible knot--

The ME is the product of generations of European colonial meddling and exploitation. The US, the purported "fair dealer", has been the most meddlesome of all, acting like a manic-depressive and thoroughly spoiled child, letting corporations tromp through bent on destruction. If the outsiders turned away, and left off with their ugly ways, the Middle East would soon sort itself out.

Granted, Israel would cease to exist, as well as the Kingdom of Saud, and the West would be dying for lack of oil, but there would be peace and stability.

3. So Friedman Has Given Up On An Independent Palestinian State

And I especially like this graf: "The third new reality is that Hamas’s shelling of Israel from Gaza means Israel can never hand over the West Bank to the Palestinians, without an international trustee — because from there Palestinians could close Israel’s airport with one rocket."

Oh, like how Israel destroyed the Gaza Airport? Was that part of the "withdrawal" deal from Gaza? It's because of Friedman and his ilk that has the mideast so messed up. First it was that Fatah was dangerous, so Hamas needed to be created. Now Hamas is dangerous so now Fatah needs to be supported. It's a death spiral of their own creation.

I also wish I could be paid to fill half my columns with c/p's from children's story books.


And words fail me with Dowd's "Obambi" bullshit.
